Course Overview
This Competency Standard Unit covers the knowledge and application of Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) safety rules and codes of practice for work on or near electrical apparatus it includes the application of relevant State and Territory safety rules, codes of practice and enterprise-based procedures and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.
- Prepare to apply ESI safety rules, codes of practice and procedures for work on or near electrical apparatus
- Hazard and risk control measures for specific work function/area are identified and obtained.
- Access authority and work permits are identified
- Carry out application of ESI safety rules, codes of practice and procedures for work on or near electrical apparatus
- Specific workplace systems and equipment isolation procedures are identified and followed
- Complete the application of ESI safety rules, codes of practice and procedures for work on or near electrical apparatus
- Processes for completing work are followed
Prerequisites
None.
You will need:
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- 100 points ID (e.g. Passport & drivers licence 0R Birth Certificate & drivers licence -check web for combinations OR check online for other options). One must be a photo ID.
Certification
Upon satisfactory completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the competency
This unit can be used towards a full qualification from The Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector training package.
