Course Overview
This comprehensive training course/licence/ticket is designed for individuals seeking to acquire the skills and certification necessary to operate articulated haul trucks safely and efficiently in a variety of work environments, including mining, construction, and quarrying. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training, participants will learn to conduct pre-operational checks, operate the truck in various conditions, transport loads, and maintain the equipment in accordance with safety regulations and standards.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the operational capabilities and limitations of articulated haul trucks.
- Perform routine pre- and post-operational checks to ensure the vehicle is in a safe, operable condition.
- Safely operate articulated haul trucks under various conditions, including loading, hauling, and dumping materials.
- Apply safe driving techniques to minimize risks and maximize efficiency in operations.
- Understand and comply with workplace safety requirements and emergency procedures.
The course duration is typically 1-3 days, including both theoretical instruction and practical training and is dependant on the current experience and skill of the participant. Experienced and skilled operators will be ready for Assessment on Day one and Novice operators will need more time to develop their knowledge and skills and may Attempt assessment on the 2nd or 3rd day. Delivery formats may vary between intensive workshops, part-time schedules, or customised training programs to suit employer and participant needs.
